In the 1960s, Brandon really took off after the Brandon Chamber of Commerce was formed. The population grew quickly from about 1,600 at the start of the decade to 8,000 at the end and by the 70’s the population had grew to more than 40,000. Today Brandon has about 115,000 residents and is considered a bedroom community and suburb of Tampa being only 13 miles away.

Brandon is home to multiple parks (including a dog park), sports complexes, a rec center, a boat ramp, and a skate park. Most of your everyday needs will be done in Brandon on Brandon Blvd. It is 3-4 miles long and has shopping, restaurants, gyms, gas stations, grocery stores, the Westfield Mall, movie theaters and everything else you will need. While technically in Tampa, attractions such as Topgolf, iFLY Indoor Skydiving and Dave & Busters are adjacent to Westfield Mall in Brandon, just across Interstate 75.

The Brandon is very hot and humid during the summer months like most of the Tampa Bay Area. Many transplants and locals alike offset this by having a pool to cool off in and enjoy. Being a bit farther inland, the area often experiences a couple of nights below freezing each year.

Owner occupancy rate is roughly 53.7% with a median home price of $348,000 and average household income of $64,400.
