US News & World Report ranked Sarasota as the #1 “Best Place to Live” for 2022-2023 in Florida. A number of main factors were considered in this study, such the happiness level of local residents, affordability of housing, employment opportunities, and the desirability index. Much of its popularity is due to it being a waterfront city with many beautiful beaches including Siesta Keys.

Sarasota is a thriving city on the west coast of Florida and is 60 miles south of Tampa, renowned for its Siesta Key Beach, rich arts and cultural scene, and long-time ties to the Ringling circus family. Residents of Sarasota enjoy endless outdoor activities, a thriving job and employment market, and quality healthcare services from top-rated hospitals. The population of Sarasota is approximately 54,000 with the total in Sarasota County of 441,500 as of 2021.

The Sarasota real estate market remains strong heading into year-end as many continue to relocate to the Suncoast from the Northeast, the Midwest and other parts of the county for our Florida climate and high-quality of life, especially for retirement. New construction market remains very healthy as many top builders continue to announce new communities and offerings, mostly east of I-75 or in South Sarasota County as land is available to build. Due to supply chain issues and other economic factors, new construction releases continue to be limited.

Sarasota has a median home sales price of $535,000 and an average household income of $70,000.
