St. Petersburg was founded in 1888 and then incorporated on February 29th, 1892. But then June 6th, 1903, the city was reincorporated, and this beachfront and bayfront city saw dramatic growth. Today’s population hovers around 270,000. The nickname for St. Petersburg is “The Sunshine City” because it broke the world record for the most consecutive days of sunshine at 768 days. With its affordable cost of living and downright gorgeous weather, this city is a common destination for retirement. Sitting on the coast, you will get a beautiful ocean view from anywhere in the city. You will also enjoy 35 miles of beaches here.

A variety of exciting activities can be enjoyed in Saint Petersburg, FL, including viewing local art, dining at some of the top restaurants, or taking a stroll in one of the many parks. There are a number of popular museums in Saint Petersburg, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Great Explorations Children’s Museum, and Imagine Museum. Performing arts venues such as State Theatre and Palladium Theater contribute to the rich arts and culture scene.

It is well known that Saint Petersburg has a number of nature preserves and parks. You can spend time lounging in green spaces such as Vinoy Park, North Shore Park, and North Straub Park. Experience Saint Petersburg’s cuisine by visiting a few local eateries like El Cap Restaurant, Munch’s Sundries & Restaurant, and Skyway Jack’s Restaurant. Teak Restaurant on St Pete pier is one of my favorites!

Soon you will be able to enjoy St Pete’s ferry that will take you to either Apollo Beach or Macdill AFB.
